Facing an unexpected pregnancy can feel overwhelming. You might be experiencing a broad range of emotions… including about what to do next. You are not alone. It’s totally normal, so be patient with yourself. Take the time you need to make the best decision for you.

Women’s Care Center has helped thousands of women facing unplanned pregnancies. If you’re considering abortion, we offer free, confidential services to help you verify your pregnancy and make a plan that is best for you.

Before an Abortion:

1. Verify your pregnancy with an ultrasound

An ultrasound is especially important if you’re considering abortion. 1 in 4 early pregnancies ends in natural miscarriage, and you might still get a positive pregnancy test result even after that.

It’s important to learn if your pregnancy is viable (“developing normally”). If your pregnancy isn’t viable, you won’t need an abortion. Women’s Care Center can provide clarity with a free ultrasound.

2. Determine how far along you are

An ultrasound can date a pregnancy with accuracy. This information can tell you when you become pregnant and how many weeks pregnant you are. This information is key in knowing what types of abortion procedures are available to you. With this knowledge, you’re better equipped to make decisions based on your circumstances.

3. Understand the procedure

Our counselors and nurses provide clear, respectful information about both medication abortion (or the abortion pill) and surgical abortion, so you can understand what each option involves. Every situation is different, and we’re here to listen without judgment, offering support tailored to your unique circumstances.

4. Make a decision that is best for you

Deciding whether or not to have an abortion is hard. You are the only one who knows what is right for you – but you are not alone. Women’s Care Center is here to support you and help you gain information you need to make the best decision for you.

FAQs: Abortion

Do you offer free ultrasounds? Yes. If you’re pregnant or think you might be, we provide free ultrasounds to confirm pregnancy and show how far along you are.

Do I need an appointment for an ultrasound? It’s best to schedule ahead, but same-day appointments are often available. Walk-ins are welcome too!

How quickly can I get an ultrasound? Most of the time you can get a same-day scan.

Will I get an ultrasound at my first visit? Usually, yes. Ask your scheduler about a same-day scan.

Who performs the ultrasound? Our ultrasounds are performed by trained nurses or licensed sonographers. They’re experienced, kind, and make sure you feel safe and comfortable. Ultrasounds are reviewed by a physician or radiologist.

What does “viable” mean? In early ultrasounds, viability means that the pregnancy is developing as expected. Ultrasounds assess for three key factors to determine viability.

Do you perform abortions? No. Women’s Care Center isn’t a clinic, and we don’t perform abortions. Instead, we’re here to support you with free services like pregnancy testing, ultrasounds, education, and counseling—so you can make the decision that’s best for you. We don’t benefit financially from any choice you make. Our only goal is to care for you, listen without judgment, and help you feel empowered with information and support.

What if I’m unsure about my pregnancy? That’s okay. We’re here to listen, talk through options, and help you feel supported no matter what you’re thinking or feeling.

What if I’m worried about finances? All of our services are free. And our compassionate staff are trained to help you find the resources you need. We believe that no one should feel pressured in making a pregnancy decision because of cost.

Can I talk to someone privately? Absolutely. Every visit includes time with a counselor who listens without judgment.
